Lauren Turkisher
Chief Operating Officer, Alternatives
Ms. Turkisher joined Ancora in 2018 and began serving as Chief Operating Officer for Ancora Alternatives in 2021. She is responsible for providing treasury management and operations oversight for the firm’s alternative investment products.
Prior to joining Ancora, Lauren held senior positions at The Proper Analysis Corporation such as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. In those roles, she managed firm wide operational systems and provided compliance guidance. Lauren moved back to Cleveland in 2013 after a time in New York and joined MatlinPatterson. She oversaw trading operations, risk management, technology and compliance processes and was responsible for counterparties, prime brokers, and investor communications.
Lauren’s significant operations experience within the financial services industry includes holding multiple roles with both asset managers and major Wall Street institutions. During her time in New York City, Lauren held various operations positions at Bank of America – Merrill Lynch, in Prime Brokerage at Morgan Stanley and at a New York based advisory firm. At Merrill Lynch she managed the firm’s efforts to begin settling credit derivatives through a central clearinghouse and to adhere to other industry-wide initiatives related to the firm’s credit products. While at Morgan Stanley, Lauren provided operational support for over $15B in hedge fund assets.
Lauren began her career in 2006 as a Portfolio Administrator for an institutional asset manager in New York, focusing on trade support and reconciliation. She is involved with the March of Dimes and Cleveland Clinic’s Healthcare Partners program. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance Investment and Banking from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Business Administration degree from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
